American Airlines slashes fares on VN-U.S. routes

American Airlines is offering travelers discounts for flights between Vietnam and the U.S. with return tickets as low as US$899, its representative office in Ho Chi Minh City said on Wednesday.

The airline said the price of a return ticket for a flight from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to Los Angeles or San Jose with a stopover in Tokyo was now US$899, down from US$1,099. A one-way ticket on these routes has also been slashed more than US$20 to US$499, it said.

Airfares for flights from Vietnam to other U.S. cities like New York, Washington D.C. or Boston have also been reduced to US$999 for a return ticket and US$499 for a one-way ticket. The new fares are effective from now until April 24.
